Transavia has announced that Paul Terstegge will assume the role of CEO, effective February 1, 2026. He succeeds Marcel de Nooijer, who will be leaving the company. Terstegge is currently Executive Vice President Inflight Services at KLM. With his broad background in commerce, operations, and strategy in aviation, he brings leadership and decisiveness to continue and further strengthen Transavia’s strategic direction.

With this appointment, Transavia takes the next step in targeted growth, expansion of its European network, and the transition towards a quieter and cleaner future. The focus also remains on continuously improving the passenger experience, ensuring a strong and predictable operation, and sharpening the business model for the years ahead.

“We warmly welcome Paul to Transavia. His deep and extensive national and international experience will be essential in Transavia’s next phase. His accessible leadership style fits well with our colleagues and aligns with the course we want to pursue and further shape in the coming years," said Jenny Elissen, Chair of Transavia’s Supervisory Board.

Terstegge has broad experience in the aviation sector, ranging from general management roles abroad to leading a large operational division at KLM. He also held strategic positions in Paris and various commercial roles within the Air France–KLM Group.

Terstegge said, “What immediately stands out at Transavia is the open way of working. Even without knowing everyone yet, I can see how much energy flows through the organisation. I look forward to making smart choices together, creating room for innovation, and continuing to ensure a pleasant and affordable journey for everyone who flies with us.”
