Icelandair partners with BAGTAG

The Icelandic airline is implementing paperless bag tags this month with BAGTAG Passenger Solution
Icelandair is elevating the passenger experience by implementing the BAGTAG Passenger Solution and electronic bag tags for passengers. The move aims to improve the travel experience for passengers and crew members alike, BAGTAG said in the press release.
The BAGTAG Passenger Solution works to enhance the check-in process for Icelandair passengers. The integration of electronic bag tags means that travellers can check their bags efficiently from home, a hotel or anywhere in the world, without the need for paper tags. The electronic bag tags display all necessary travel information to get the bag to the final destination.
“At Icelandair, we are committed to setting new standards in the airline industry through leveraging the latest technology. Our decision to implement the BAGTAG Passenger Solution stands as a testament to our dedication to enhancing the passenger experience while also making a positive contribution to environmental sustainability,” said Helga Huld Bjarnadóttir, Director of Products and Services at Icelandair.
The partnership between Icelandair and the BAGTAG Passenger Solution is streamlining the airline’s operations while simultaneously reducing its environmental impact. This aligns with Icelandair’s sustainability targets.
The BAGTAG Passengers Solution is set to roll out for Icelandair passengers by the end of the month.
“This collaboration marks a significant stride in providing passengers with a seamless and efficient check-in process, aligning perfectly with Icelandair’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. It also makes Icelandair the first airline to roll out electronic bag tags for both crew and passengers, innovating their entire baggage process. We can’t wait to see everything in place,” said Jasper Quak, Managing Director of BAGTAG.
