Burrana positions RISE Power as core cabin infrastructure at AIX 2026

Burrana’s RISE platform introduces a new class of in-seat power solutions for modern aircraft cabins
Burrana is reframing the role of in-seat power, positioning it as essential cabin infrastructure rather than a standalone passenger feature, as it unveils its “New Class of Power” platform at Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2026.
At the center of the announcement is Burrana’s RISE Power system, a clean-sheet architecture designed to meet the demands of increasingly connected aircraft cabins. As passenger device usage grows and onboard systems become more complex, the company says traditional, seat-based power solutions are no longer sufficient.
“We are seeing a clear transition where power is no longer treated as a discrete seat feature,” said David Pook, VP Global Marketing and Sales at Burrana. “It is becoming part of the aircraft’s underlying infrastructure, something that must scale across the cabin, perform consistently under load and integrate seamlessly with broader cabin systems.”
Moving beyond first-come, first-served power
A key differentiator of the RISE platform is its dynamic, cabin-wide power management. Unlike conventional systems that allocate power on a first-come, first-served basis, RISE distributes power intelligently across seat groups and the entire cabin.
This approach is designed to eliminate uneven charging performance, a growing issue on high-density and long-haul aircraft, while improving overall system efficiency.
Growth across fleets
Burrana reports significant traction for the platform, with selections now exceeding 880 aircraft globally, more than doubling its footprint since AIX 2025. Adoption across both linefit and retrofit programs signals growing alignment among airlines, OEMs and seat manufacturers around the need for lighter, scalable and integrated power solutions.
From charging to data-driven operations
Beyond powering personal devices, RISE incorporates embedded intelligence and data capabilities that extend into airline operations. The system enables enhanced maintenance planning, improved cabin readiness and visibility into passenger power usage patterns.
These insights can support more informed decision-making and align with broader industry priorities around efficiency and aircraft utilization.

With the “New Class of Power” positioning, the company is aiming to establish in-seat power not as an add-on, but as a foundational element of the modern aircraft cabin.
