AIME 2025: Day one in Dubai

The first panel discussion of AIME 2025, "What's the Future Landscape for Aircraft Interiors?"

The Aircraft Interiors Middle East (AIME) conference kicked off this morning at the Dubai World Trade Centre, co-located with MRO Middle East. This is the largest event of its kind in the MEASA region, boasting 7,500+ attendees and more than 250 exhibitors from around the world. The AIME Pavilion is a dedicated area on the show floor for all AIME exhibitors, featuring the latest innovations and technology within avionics, cabin interiors, connectivity and sustainability.

Qualifying airlines and lessors will have access to the Airline Club Lounge, a space for VIPs to enjoy complimentary refreshments, host informal meetings or catch up on work.

The GoLive! Theater agenda began promptly at 10:30 a.m. with opening remarks from Sarah Malik, Junior Conference Producer, Aviation Week Network. This was followed by an MRO Forecast - Key Trends & Topics for the Region, by Daniel Williams Director, Fleet Data Services, Aviation Week, at 10:40 a.m.

AIME discussion panels

The first AIME discussion panel took place at 11:10 a.m., entitled AIME: Panel Discussion: What's the Future Landscape for Aircraft Interiors? This session, moderated by Jean Pierre Alfano, Director, AirJet Designs, sees experts share insights on the interplay of sustainability, technology, and geopolitical dynamics driving innovation and transformation. Panelists include Dr. Eng. Suaad Al Shamsi, 1st UAE Female Aircraft Engineer, Women in Aviation; Andrew Tarry, Global Sales Director, Percival Aviation Ltd; and Tero Taskila Chief Executive Officer, beOnd.

The second AIME panel of the day also took place in the Main Hall at 11:40 a.m. The conversation, AIME: CEO Unplugged: A Fireside Conversation with flyadeal, saw Steven Greenway, CEO, flyadeal speak with moderator Dr. Eng. Suaad Al Shamsi, 1st UAE Female Aircraft Engineer, Women in Aviation about the youngest and fastest-growing low-cost airline in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East on its expansion initiatives and more.

Two more AIME discussion panels followed this afternoon in the Main Hall. At 2:15 p.m., Priyanga Wijewardana, Aviation Consultant, was the moderator for AIME: Panel Discussion: Elevating your Experience: Tech-Driven Personalization in Air Travel. This session explored how airlines are maximizing the benefits of AI and data to enhance customer engagement, build passenger loyalty and offer personalized experiences. Panelists included Isuru Dissanayake, Digital Experience Manager, SriLankan Airlines and Dr. Luis Onsorio, Senior Professor and Assistant Dean of Corporate Alignment Woxsen University.

Then, at 2:45 p.m., Wijewardana moderated the AIME: Panel Discussion: From Skies to Ground: Connecting Passengers with IFEC with panelists Mohsin Al Beshr, Senior Manager Aircraft Maintenance Technical Operations, Etihad Airways; Riadh Ben Ali Jaidi, IFEC Engineering Duty Manager, Gulf Air; Katsunori Maki Director, ANA (All Nippon Airways); and Evans Wanyonyi, Senior Development Engineer, Kenya Airways.
