SWISS reveals long-haul premium economy cabins
Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) presented its first aircraft to be equipped with its Premium Economy Class. The 777-300ER will be deployed on SWISS’s Zurich-Miami services starting in March.
SWISS’s Premium Economy Class will be installed in all 12 of its 777-300ERs and will feature 24 seats from manufacturer ZIM.
“The comfortable seats, with fabrics provided by the Bern-based Lantal company, feature a hardshell design that enables them to be easily reclined at no inconvenience to the passenger behind,” said a February 24 press release. “SWISS is the first airline in the Lufthansa Group to offer its customers this newly-developed ZIM premium economy seat.”
A behind-the-scenes look into ZIM’s manufacturing process is available here and SWISS’s Premium Economy Class can also be viewed as a virtual 3D model here.
SWISS Premium Economy Class travelers are given a complimentary amenity kit. The kit, which is provided by Skysupply, makes use of kraft paper and paper pulp in its contents to minimize plastics use.
