Saudia reports 25 percent growth in international passengers for Q1

Saudia shares its Q1 report statistics 

Saudia has announced in an April 18 press release that it saw strong performance for Q1 2024, recording a 19 percent year-over-year increase in the total number of passengers during the first quarter, along with growth in operational rates.

According to Saudia's Q1 2024 performance report, the airline transported over 8.3 million guests across domestic and international destinations. This positive trend was supported by an 11 percent increase in scheduled and additional flights, totalling 46.8 thousand while flight hours increased by 13 percent to 144.7 thousand. Saudia maintained a flight on-time performance of 89.3 percent.

Internationally, Saudia experienced significant growth, with the number of passengers increasing by 25 percent to more than 4.7 million. This growth was supported by a 13 percent increase in the number of international flights, totaling 20.9 thousand, and a 15 percent rise in flight hours, reaching 100.7 thousand, while international flight punctuality remained at 86.5 percent.

Domestic operations also showed consistent growth, with an 11 percent increase in the number of passengers flying, reaching 3.6 million, and a nine percent increase in flight activity, totalling 25.9 thousand flights. Domestic flight hours increased by nine percent to 44 thousand, while maintaining an on-time performance of 91.5 percent.

His Excellency Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, said that the increase in flights and exceptional operational efficiency are cornerstones of the new era of Saudia.
