AIRE offers cabin disinfection service to fight COVID-19

By Jane Hobson

AIRE announced today that it is putting its cabin interiors experience at the forefront of its efforts to fight COVID-19. The company is supplying airlines at Barajas Airport in Madrid mandatory cleaning and disinfection services, as issued by the European Aviation Safety Agnecy (EASA).

The mandatory safety directives to combat the virus via airline travel were issued by EASA March 13.

"“Clean and fully disinfect the aircraft using substances suitable for aviaton use after each flight coming from an airport located in an affected area with high risk of transmission of the CoViD-19 infection... The operator shall ensure that the aircrafts fully cleaned and disinfected not later than 24 hours after departures," reads the online statement.

AIRE will provide a cleaning/disinfection service for air cabin interiors and cargo compartments with aircraft-approved broad-spectrum disinfectants at Bajaras Airport, on an all-day-every-day availability. This includes all cabin surfaces, including a special treatment to dry-clean and disinfect the aircraft carpet. AIRE is implementing the services according to aircraft AMM procedures in compliance with EASA regulation: the broad-spectrum disinfectant is released by means of spray pump and scrubbed with a lint-free cotton cloth assuring all surfaces subject to be in contact are fully disinfected.
