Beginning in spring 2021, SWISS International Air Lines will fly a new Premium Economy Class on its fleet of long-haul aircraft.

Twenty-four seats on the airlines' 777-300ER aircraft will be devoted to the new cabin. The class will be extended to the entire SWISS long-haul fleet in the months following its introduction.

According to a March 14 press release from the airline, the airline will invest approximately CHF 40 million (US$40 million) in installing the new seating class on its 777 aircraft, including a "newly developed seat" that provides more legroom and space for movement.

Tamur Goudarzi Pour, Chief Commercial Officer of SWISS, said in a statement: “All in all, our Premium Economy Class travelers will enjoy a substantially stronger sense of personal space."

The conversation work will begin in winter 2020/2021.
