The appointment of Kristin Colvile as the new Chief Executive Officer of SkyTeam was confirmed at today's meeting of the alliance's Governing Board in Amsterdam.

Colvile comes to SkyTeam from Delta, where she has held leadership roles in multiple divisions of Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines since joining the company 25 years ago. Most recently, Kristin led Delta’s cargo enterprise through a multi-year transformation that was deemed highly successful by the company.

Colvile will build on SkyTeam's investments in technology by focusing on maximizing tools to enhance seamlessness for all of the alliance's members and their customers, according to a release from the company.

‘We’re very pleased to welcome Kristin on board as SkyTeam’s new CEO," said Michael Wisbrun, SkyTeam’s Chairman. "She joins the alliance at an important transitional phase, and we are absolutely confident that Kristin’s extensive experience will help us to build the alliance of the future for all 20 of our member airlines and their customers."

The former CEO and Managing Director of SkyTeam, Perry Cantarutti, will return to Delta in the role of S.V.P. of Alliances.

Wisbrun commented: ‘We thank Perry for all his hard work over the last three years. He brought many pivotal projects into fruition that will continue to expand under Kristin’s guidance."
