Flying Food Group opens new kitchen at SFO

By Rick Lundstrom

Flying Food Group today announced the May 18, 2020 launch of its new kitchen at San Francisco (SFO).

“The new facility adds extensive production capacity and represents the best in catering design and workflow strategies,” said Nicolas Rondeau, Flying Food Group Executive Vice President, Airline Sales and Marketing in today’s announcement.

The 71,000-square-foot (6,600 square meter) unit has a fully refrigerated dock and production areas for enhanced food safety. The building’s single-story structure adds production and workflow efficiencies.

The new kitchen represents the final phase of Flying Food Group’s US$100 million plus retrofit and upgrade of its national network of 17 units stretching from Hawaii to New York. The facilities upgrade project also includes new kitchens at Los Angeles and Honolulu and an expanded, renovated kitchen at Miami.

Flying Food Group customers at SFO include Hawaiian Airlines, Japan Airlines, ANA, Air France-KLM, Asiana and others.
