SAUDIA flies heritage-inspired amenity kits

By Rachel Debling

Five designs have been created, each inspired by a different region of Saudi Arabia

SAUDIA has launched a collectible set of limited-edition amenity kits as part of a collaboration with the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Heritage (SCTH). The kits will be available to guests on the airline's long-haul routes, on flights longer than 7 hours.

The kits bear patterns that reflect cultural elements from the five regions of Saudi Arabia: the Southern region (Al-Qatt Al-Asiri Decorative Art), Eastern region (Al-Ahsa Pattern Decorative Art), Western region (Hejazi Rushan Distinctive Wooden Windows), Central region (Najdi Doors Unique Pattern and Decorative Art on Doors) and the Northern region (Sadou Fabric Craft).

SAUDIA and SCTH worked together to ensure the kits were eco-friendly by using recycled materials in both the contents and packaging. The kits include an eye mask, socks, earplugs, a toothbrush and toothpaste, a collectible bag, and a leaflet containing information on the architecture and heritage that inspired each bag.
