Emirates expands onboard kids' collection
Starting this month, new toys featuring passengers' favorite Fly With Me characters will be featured in all Emirates cabins, across all flights. The top toys – Lewis the Lion, Peek U the Panda, Ernie the Penguin and Savanna the Elephant – were decided with the help of feedback from customers, submitted via a 2017 social media competition.
Infants (up to two years of age) on short-haul flights will receive a vibrating plush that can be attached to a stroller or car seat following the flight. Children aged three to six traveling on these flights will receive a travel case sketcher with puzzles, games and stickers, while those on long-haul flights will be provided with a plush backpack filled with activities. Infants on long-haul flights will be given a "dual purpose plush toy with a printed activity blanket," according to a release from Buzz Products, which created the series for Emirates.
Older children between the ages of seven and 12 will be offered newly redesigned "retro" Lonely Planet Kids activity bags containing educational items such as crafts, travel books and more.
Fly with Me magazine can also be found on board Emirates' flights. Each issue features puzzles, jokes and activities for children aged three to eight years old.
In addition, parents with infants will receive an amenity pouch with essentials for young traveling families. The kit, featuring the airline's Little Traveller characters, contains a bib, spoon, baby wipes, changing mat, diaper rash cream and a small diaper bag.
