Recaro Aircraft Seating won a Gold German Design Award - one of the most esteemed design competitions in the world - for its CL3710 Economy Class long-haul seat featuring an innovative design concept that enhances sleeping comfort.

“At Recaro we are always honored when our work receives an accolade, but it’s even more meaningful to be recognized by such a prestigious organization as the German Design Awards,” said Mark Hiller, Chief Executive Officer and Shareholder of Recaro Aircraft Seating. “The innovative comfort features transform the sleeping experience for the passenger, and the lightweight, low-maintenance structure makes it the perfect Economy seat product for airlines.”

According to today’s press release, the CL3710 offers comfort features that improve support for sleeping posture, increases privacy and provides a larger living space, enhancing the Premium Economy experience. The Recaro-patented Abrazo Headrest offers additional neck support with six-way adjustable neck pillow, and the extended seat bottom provides improved leg support for even weight distribution. The flip cushion integration in the backrest provides low-back support.

In addition, the lightweight structure and efficient design helps reduce aircraft weight and fuel costs, as well as maintenance expenses.
