Recaro honors partners at 10th annual Global Supplier Conference
On Tuesday, May 15, Recaro Aircraft Seating hosted more than 100 individuals from 55 companies at its 10th annual Global Supplier Conference, held at the company's U.S. site near Fort Worth, Texas. The event served as an opportunity for Recaro to acknowledge their 2018 suppliers of the year and, in keeping with the theme of this year's conference, a new innovation category was introduced.
Guest speakers from the Mexican Federation of the Aerospace Industry (FEMIA) – Luis Lizcano, General Manager, and Xavier Hurtado, Supply Chain Development Program – addressed the crowd, along with Recaro's own experts.
Joachim Ley, Executive Vice President Supply Chain at Recaro Aircraft Seating, commented in a May 16 statement: “Recaro and its suppliers have the great ability to work in the steadily growing, future-oriented aircraft industry and dedicatedly pursue the strategy of collaboration. In order to continue our success story, we always need to innovate – within our company as well as our suppliers. For that reason, we decided to invite all our partners to an ‘Idea Challenge 2018’. The result was amazing.”
“We congratulate all winners of our [2018 supplier awards]," said Laurent Bersot, Director Purchasing at Recaro Aircraft Seating. “Over the last years, our company achieved great milestones and set new trends ... because of the support of our innovative suppliers.”
Thirty-three ideas from 14 suppliers were judged by Recaro's jury. The companies that were recognized for their achievements include:
Soisa Aircraft Interiors – The Mexican supplier's innovative lighting in dress covers can be used in numerous ways: to identify emergency exits, for cabin crew to track seat belt and recline, for airline branding and to identify special needs passengers.
Suzhou Haoxin Precision Mechanical Co., Ltd. – This Chinese company's on-time delivery, quality performance and high level of customer orientation helped them win the category of "Production Material."
Hopf Kunststofftechnik GmbH – The German supplier has worked with Recaro since 2016 in what the seating company bills as "a strong business relationship."
BDP International –This company nabbed the "Non-Production Material" category for their on-time delivery performance and quick response time.
