Singapore Airlines selects GuideU for 787 fleet

By Rick Lundstrom

Singapore Airlines has chosen Lufthansa Technik's GuideU 1000-Series emergency floor path marking system for installation on its new 787-10 fleet. A total of 49 aircraft will be delivered to Singapore's flag carrier starting in the first quarter of 2018. Singapore Airlines already relies on GuideU for its A350 fleet.

"We are delighted that Singapore Airlines has decided to install GuideU in its new Boeing 787 aircraft," said Torben Biehl, Head of Product Development for GuideU at Lufthansa Technik, in today’s announcement. "GuideU with its highly individual design options goes beyond the pure functionality of an emergency system. Not only is it the world's flattest and lightest floor path marking system, it is also totally
maintenance-free."

The GuideU 1000-Series is a non-electrical floor path marking system, using photo luminescent strips to guide passengers to the exits if cabin lighting fails. GuideU 1000-Series is available in several colors that can be integrated into any cabin design. Fillers in various sizes allow adapting the light strip assembly height to different carpets.

The GuideU 1000-Series will be presented at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg from 10 to 12 April 2018 at the Lufthansa Technik stand in hall 6, booth 80.
