UK-based Cobalt Aerospace has been recognized with two Queens Awards for its excellence in ‘Innovation’ and ‘International Trade’.

The Queens Awards for Enterprise recognize the success of innovative businesses that are pioneering products and services. This year, 205 businesses were recognized nationally for their contributions to international trade, innovation, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility. In addition to Cobalt Aerospace, four other businesses were honored in both the innovation and international trade categories.

Cobalt Aerospace was established in 2013 by co-founders Ben Brown and Dan Rust. The company develops products that provide comfort, safety, convenience and ambience to enrich air travel for both passengers and operators.

In the Innovation category, the Cobalt Aerospace developed a drop-in LED mood lighting system for aircraft cabins. It is currently flying with several flag carriers and aircraft operators.

"We were bowled over to learn that we had won, not one, but two awards," said Rust, in today's announcement. "I'm incredibly proud of the whole team - each of whom have contributed to our success with their hard work and dedication of the last eight years."

Now in its 55th year, the Queens Awards for Enterprise have honored more that 7,000 companies.
