By Rick Lundstrom

SCIS, the LSG Group’s expert brand for security, sanitization and mobile device management, now offers the most complete germicidal ultraviolet light (UVC) sanitizing solution in the airline industry. In cooperation with its partner SteriFlight, the company adopted a technology that has been used in hospitals for over 20 years. UVC kills germs, bacteria and viruses effectively to protect both passengers and crew members.

“It is proven to deactivate 99.9 percent of multiple variations of coronavirus,” says Gregg Cohen, President of SteriFlight, in today's announcement.

SCIS and SteriFlight equipment specially designed for aircraft, sanitizing from floor to ceiling. A UVC sanitization is performed within 15 minutes and is effective at sanitizing all cabin surfaces including overhead bins, galleys and lavatories. The technology does not use any chemicals, making it environmentally friendly and it does not cause any irritation to passengers’ skin or respiratory systems. It is also highly effective at sanitizing the air within aircraft cabins and therefore fights odors and airborne viruses.

Randy Barnard, President of SCIS stated, “We are excited to be partnered with SteriFlight and to offer unique, effective, efficient, safe and affordable sanitizing solutions that help protect our customers’ passengers and crew members.”
