Celeste ramps up production through pandemic

By Jane Hobson

Celeste Industries has announced that with the increased need for hand sanitizer and hard surface disinfectant/cleaner for the aviation industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is ramping up its production.

“We have kept our workforce in place through the pandemic and plan to do so going forward. The products we manufacture, such as hand sanitizer, have helped keep our team safe as they work,” said Brandon Bloodsworth, Operations Manager for Celeste, in the June 15 press release. “We have recently modified multiple production lines to meet higher demand of our Sani-Cide EX3 disinfectant by creating the flexibility to quickly adjust and produce various container sizes.”

The Sani-Cide EX3 is a broad-spectrum, hard surface disinfectant/cleaner registered with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Celeste traditionally supplies to the transportation industry with a focus on aviation but is ramping up production and expanding its reach to include the cargo and packaging industries to help ensure safe delivery of supplies to the healthcare and food workforce.

This focus on market expansion has also made Sani Cide EX3 available through the transportation, institutional and manufacturing industries thus providing access to hospitals and emergency vehicle fleets. To accommodate the increase in product demand, Celeste has expanded machine capacity for Sani-Cide EX3.

Celeste has donated hand sanitizer and disinfectant to local Police and Sheriff Departments, The Chesapeake Center serving those with disabilities, Maryland Natural Resources Police Aviation Unit (who share with other Emergency Response Teams), post offices, fire departments, and local small businesses.

Sani-Cide EX3 is being tested for label claims against Human Coronavirus and will be submitted for testing against SARS-CoV-2 when testing is available. Sani-Cide EX3 has been included on U.S. EPA’s List N: Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2. List N includes products that meet EPA’s criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the novel Coronavirus that causes the disease COVID-19.
