Lufthansa Technik Middle East doubles Dubai South facility space

By PAX International

Lufthansa Technik Middle East has doubled the size of its hangar and workshop facility and added new services to its portfolio to meet growing customer demands, according to a press release from the company. After only one year in operation, its main facility, located in the Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub at Dubai South, doubled from 2,500 to 5,000 square meters.

The additional space will allow the Lufthansa Technik subsidiary to increase its capabilities for Airframe Related Components (ARCĀ®), such as composite repairs on components such as the inlet cowls of the 787. New nacelle and radome spares for 787, 777 and Airbus A320 aircraft were acquired. In addition, more mobile support teams can now perform on-wing work for certain repairs at local customer sites, significantly reducing costs and turnaround times. More possible services will be announced in the future.

Tahnoon Saif, CEO of Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub, said in a statement: "Lufthansa Technik is one of the leading aviation suppliers in the world and we are delighted to see that their facility has doubled in size within the first year of operation at the Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub. We look forward to developing their offering at the Aerospace Hub, and will continue to support their growth and development."

Lufthansa Technik Middle East also operates a warehouse at Dubai International Airport, where an increasing number of parts are stored for local spares support. The company also offers AOG support, landing gear services, engine wash services and a local material support desk.
