Qatar Airways has opened its Al Mourjan Business Lounge at Hamad International Airport to cater for its premium passengers.

The business lounge is one of the largest in the world with over 10,000m2 (108,000ft2) of floor space spread out over two floors. Al Mourjan can accommodate up to 1,000 visitors at any given time.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer our premium passengers our new premium lounge, which sets new benchmarks in airport luxury and will far exceed our passengers’ expectations," said Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways. "Qatar Airways does not compromise on quality and the Al Mourjan lounge is the perfect example of this as it is the epitome of comfort, convenience and five-star service that our premium class passengers have come to expect from us.”

The Al Mourjan Business Lounge is an open and airy space that has been designed to fully utilize the natural light of the day. There is a seated dining area in the mezzanine along with a grand water feature and four-tiered chandelier.

Amenities in the lounge include a quiet room, prayer room, a nursery, showers and a games area with PlayStation pods and an F1 driving simulator. There are also a number of business areas including a conference center and personal internet stations.

The Al Mourjan Business Lounge is open to Qatar Airways’ and oneworld’s first and business class passengers until the Al Safwa first class lounge opens as part of Hamad Airport’s phased development.
