Fokke Mentjes has been appointed Managing Director at KID-Systeme, according to a press release from the company. He stepped into the role on March 1, replacing Stefan Baten, who has moved to a new role within Airbus.

Mentjes will be responsible for the overall business of KID-Systeme, alongside Managing Director Peter Schetschine. His responsibilities include product development, strategy, operations and finance.

Mentjes commented on his appointment in a statement: “I am very excited about the prospect of joining this internationally operating company in the aviation industry, belonging to the top suppliers for electronic cabin systems worldwide. As a member of the Airbus Group and together with a highly motivated and skilled team, we are well prepared to fulfill the needs of our present and future customers.”

After achieving his engineering degree from Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) in 1999, Mentjes began his career at EADS. Prior to joining KID-Systeme, he worked at Airbus Defence and Space, most recently in the A400M avionics program management.
