Monty's Bakehouse is officially B Corp certified
Monty’s Bakehouse has announced that it is now officially B Corp certified, joining more than 1,400 organizations in the United Kingdom that meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
The inflight food supplier says in the August 23 announcement that the certification process was extensive, requiring the company to examine and improve operations across multiple areas of its business. As part of its journey toward certification, Monty’s Bakehouse began tracking its carbon emissions, cutting energy usage by 22 percent and reducing emissions from on-site waste by 23 percent. The company also reports more than 1,000 staff hours dedicated to local volunteering and the donation of 44,605 meals to community initiatives.
Monty’s Bakehouse emphasizes that the support of its customers and suppliers was critical in gathering the information needed for the application. “It is fair to say we could not have done it without our partners’ feedback and support,” the company states.
By becoming a B Corp, Monty’s Bakehouse has committed to maintaining these standards over the long term and continuing to prioritize social and environmental responsibility alongside business performance.
