Intervine has announced the addition of Le Waf, a premium line of artisan Belgian-style waffles, to its portfolio of onboard meal components for airline partners around the world.

Founded in Monterey, California in 1997, Le Waf has earned a loyal following through its unique take on the classic Belgian waffle, golden baked with caramelized Belgian pearl sugar for a rich, crunchy texture in every bite. Once a local favorite, Le Waf has grown into a widely celebrated brand featured at international events including the Olympics, the U.S. Open, and the Super Bowl. Now, through Intervine, this snack is available to airline passengers globally.

“We’re excited to boost the nostalgic pleasure of Le Waf in the skies,” said Jonjie Lockman, CEO of Intervine. “It’s more than just a snack. When served warm in premium cabins, the irresistible aroma and flavor create a memorable experience for passengers. Le Waf also provides airlines with a high-quality, easy-to-serve product that holds strong potential for onboard retail in the main cabin.”

Le Waf waffles are available in a variety of formats to suit inflight service needs — dry mix, frozen dough, bulk packs, as well as individually wrapped and retail-ready wrapped units. The pre-baked format is ideal for food service — simply heat and serve! Le Waf’s savory waffle varieties are a standout favorite, offering a versatile option for any time of day. It is a multi-sensory experience that allows the aroma of caramelized waffles to waft through the cabin.

This addition underscores Intervine’s continued commitment to sourcing distinctive, high-quality food and beverage products that elevate passenger satisfaction and deliver strong ancillary revenue opportunities for its airline clients, the May 19 press release said.
