The story of Mamame
The story of Mamame began with a simple idea: to create a better snack that everyone could enjoy. Founded by a mother-daughter duo, Liz Kang and her mom Alvina Chun, the pair combined their passion for good food and healthy living to bring a new twist to traditional tempeh. Using a patented cooking method, they crafted a chip that is not only delicious but also safe for people with common food allergies.
The belief is that snacks should bring people together. That is why Mamame is committed to making wholesome, allergen-friendly snacks that do not compromise on taste.
"Grab a bag of Mamame Tempeh Chips and snack freely, knowing you’re choosing a healthier, more inclusive option," DFMi says.

A Note from "mama"
Founder and CEO Chun says, "Raising my two kids across Japan, Singapore and Indonesia, I always searched for the most delicious local food nature had to offer, to feed their growing appetites. In Jakarta, our family home for more than two decades, I discovered tempeh, and it was a game-changer.
It was tasty, nutritious, and readily available. In every meal I cooked, I tried to bring elements of the earth to the table—in the form of plant-based Asian foods like natto, tofu and tempeh. Blessed by gifts of the local culture that surrounded us, these foods showed us delicious ways we could eat while considering both the health of the environment and ourselves.
With my kids all grown up, I wondered how I could share my love for tempeh with the world. I started experimenting in my kitchen, and after countless hours of trial and error (my kids called me a mad scientist!), I perfected the art of making tempeh chips that were not only delicious but also healthy and convenient.
Mamame was born out of my passion for good food and a desire to introduce others to the magic of tempeh. I'm so excited to share my big love with you, and I hope you love it as much as I do."
