Video Clip: APOT and Taste Vietnam aim to increase tourism in Vietnam
This week PAX International is live on location in Da Nang, Vietnam for APOT Asia Networking Event 2023. On day two of the event, delegates embarked on a trip to Hoi An for dinner at Vy’s Market Restaurant & Cooking School.
Hosted in partnership with Taste Vietnam Group, this dinner marked APOT’s second time at Vy’s—the last dinner was in 2014.
In an interview with PAX, Diem said working APOT is an important factor in her goal to bring more tourists to Hoi An and spread Vietnamese cuisine to more people.
“The networking is so important. All of you do work in different areas, but all in support for tourism,” she said. “The important thing is to create innovation, to learn how to do the best for our visitors. My job is to bring my culture out of country, out of Vietnam. You come from far way to Hoi An to enjoy the culture, to eat the food. I need to connect with you to send a message to people, and then they go to the airlines and book a ticket to come here. So, we all work together.”
She says it is this iconic Vietnamese hospitality and culture that draw people to the city.
“We are special—and the food. I have so much to say about Vietnamese food. For me, that represents culture—Vietnamese cuisine.”
