Emirates launches limited-edition bourbon blend with Woodford Reserve

A limited-edition bourbon created in celebration of a 15-year partnership between Emirates and Woodford Reserve will be served to First and Business Class passengers in the A380 Onboard Lounge and on selected routes across the UK, USA, Australasia and Southeast Asia this July.
The Woodford Reserve Emirates Personal Selection has “aromas of dried fruits, sweet honey, vanilla buttercream, and charred wood. The taste profile is rich and rounded with cherry, chocolate, toffee and caramel flavours, and the finish is smooth and creamy with a long, warm, satisfying tail,” a recent release detailed.
Woodford Reserve Master Distiller Chris Morris aided in the creation of the bespoke small batch — just two barrels total. Usually, a Woodford Reserve Bourbon consists of more than 100 barrels. Emirates is reportedly the only airline to launch a personally selected private whiskey blend.
“The barrels were batched together to create a unique flavour profile that can never be replicated,” the release said, explaining that “when the batch is only two barrels, a complex and intense flavour profile is distinctly crafted for an unforgettably unique experience.”
