APOT 2025 concludes with Golden Knife Global Challenge

The fourth and final day of APOT 2025 was marked by the inaugural Golden Knife World Challenge, also called the Golden Knife World Championship. This is the first time AI judging and an electronic one-touch system were integrated for transparency in such an event, the October 30 press release said. A competition among culinary champions unfolded in Haikou City, showcasing talents from Egypt, Russia, Vietnam and China.

Each finalist team included three chefs and one restaurant manager, all hailing from their respective countries and under the age of 40. They brought traditional flavors to life, crafting exquisite dishes reflective of their cultures. The event was broadcast globally, drawing more than 20,000 viewers who tuned in to witness the live-streamed competition.
The judging panel consisted of esteemed professionals from around the world and the event was moderated by APOT's Chief Executive Officer, Jeremy Clark.

Starting at 8:00 a.m., the chefs prepared a three-course meal designed to impress a panel of ten judges. Each dish was a testament to the diverse culinary finesse and innovation displayed by the competitors.
AI technology was utilized in the judging to ensure fairness and precision in evaluating the participants' culinary artistry. This advancement was met with praise and enthusiasm from both participants and viewers alike.
Closing festivities

The closing dinner was hosted at the Haikou Hilton Hotel
The award and closing ceremonies were held at the Haikou Hilton Hotel, where the talented team from Egypt emerged victorious. Professor Liu, Chairman of the GCA, presented the awards, congratulating the Egyptian team for their exceptional achievement.
