In photos: Highlights from AIX 2024
The Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2024 kicked off in Hamburg, Germany, this morning. The event is taking place from May 28 to 30 in the Hamburg Messe and is bringing together 13,000 industry professionals and 400 exhibitors including more than 40 first-time exhibitors. AIX has seen steadily increasing attendance since the pandemic, with a 59 percent increase from 2022 to 2023. This year, the event is drawing its largest post-pandemic crowd to date.

CabinSpace LIVE
The doors for the first full day of networking opened at 8:00 AM local time, welcoming attendees and exhibitors to take to the show floor and attend various educational sessions. CabinSpace LIVE’s theatre space quickly became a ground for discussion of the future of cabin interiors.
The first panel kicked off at 10:00 AM. Moderated by Seth Miller, Founder & Editor-in-Chief of PaxExAero, “Connectivity: Perfect Partnerships” invited attendees to discuss the benefits of companies entering into partnerships that provide seamless connectivity to passengers through LEO, MEO and GEO coverage.
At 12:00 pm, David Whelan, Senior Analyst, Valour Consultancy, took to the stage to moderate a session on “Connectivity: The Big Switch” which looks at how airlines can best transition to delivering free Wi-Fi to passengers inflight.
This session was followed by “New Era: The Fascinating Future of the Aircraft Cabin”, moderated by Maryann Simpson, Director, of Jetway Communications Ltd. The discussion invited various suppliers and exhibitors at AIX to highlight their latest innovations that are shaping tomorrow’s cabin interiors.

From the Expo floor
The some 400 exhibitors taking to the show floor at AIX in Hamburg this week include a range of suppliers, from seating companies like Unum Aircraft Seating and Geven to lighting suppliers like IFPL Group and cabin equipment from the Bucher Group.
Dedicated IFEC zone
This year, AIX has a Dedicated IFEC Zone, displaying the latest innovations in inflight entertainment, connectivity, digital tools, content services, hardware, software and satellites. This is an eye-opening walk-through with a glimpse into the IFEC solutions available for the passengers of tomorrow.
Highlighting the latest advancements in inflight connectivity and entertainment, this specialist area is located in halls B2 to B4.
Women In Aviation Panel
Viasat hosted a Women in Aviation lunch event on May 29th at 12:30 PM, inviting women from airlines, suppliers and media to the Chicago Suite, A Hall, to listen to a panel of esteemed female leaders in aviation discuss the technologies that are driving change in the industry.
Michelle Munoz-Talcott, Senior Director, Marketing, Aviation & Energy at Viasat was the moderator for this panel. Panelists included Mariya Stoyinova, Crystal Cabin Awards jury and formerly JetBlue; Julieta McCurry, VP of In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity Strategy, Delta Airlines; and Helga Huld Bjarnadóttir, Director Product and Service Management, Icelandair
