Dilmah Tea recognized for quality, sustainability and ethics at BCCS Awards

Dilmah Tea took home multiple awards at the BCCS Awards 

Dilmah Tea was honoured as a Top 10 Corporate Citizens award winner last night at the Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability (BCCS) Awards, organized by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. The MJF Foundation and Dilmah Conservation were also recognized at the event for their commitment to quality, sustainability, ethics and biodiversity.

“Our focus is on excellence in Taste, Goodness and ethical Purpose, and not on awards, but it is always encouraging to see our efforts recognized in these accolades,” said Dilhan C. Fernando, CEO of Dilmah Tea, via LinkedIn. “Our thanks to my father for his vision, and the foundation he laid, to Team Dilmah and to our customers, who make it all happen!”

Dilmah Tea took home multiple accolades and recognitions at the BCCS Awards, including:

  • Winner: Top 10 Corporate Citizen 2023

  • First Runner Up: Award for Planning & Adoption of Resilient Practices 2023

  • Winner: Best Project Sustainability Awards 2023- MJF Charitable Foundation for Rainbow Horizon Project

  • Winner: Best Project Sustainability Awards 2023- Dilmah Ceylon Tea Company PLC- Endane Biodiversity Corridor (EBC)

  • Certificate: Consistent Commitment & Continuous Improvement- Under Environment Beyond the Business category

  • Certificate: Consistent Commitment & Continuous Improvement- Under Customer Relations category

The family business was founded in 1988 by Merrill J. Fernando, based in Sri Lanka. It is committed to quality and authenticity in tea with all packaging profits retained in Sri Lanka, put towards funding the MJF Charitable Foundation and Dilmah Conservation.
