Bucher Group becomes Airbus SFE galley and stowage supplier

Bucher’s G1B galley on display at AIX 2026
Bucher Group has been selected as a supplier of SFE galleys and stowage solutions for Airbus, marking a significant milestone for the Swiss cabin interiors specialist as it prepares to support the A320 family.
The company will begin delivering its first highly customized shipset equipment galleys and stowage units starting this year, following three years of development on its new G1B galley platform.
Showcased at Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2026 in Hamburg, the G1B galley has been engineered to meet stringent CS 25.795 safety standards, with a focus on cockpit security. The design incorporates a reinforced structural barrier capable of withstanding extreme physical loads and forced entry attempts, alongside energy-absorbing features to mitigate kinetic threats.
While specific details of the ballistic protection system remain confidential, Bucher confirms the solution complies with the highest applicable safety and certification requirements.

Bucher’s approach centres on bespoke, out-of-catalogue galley and stowage solutions tailored to each airline’s branding and operational needs. Project awards and final configurations are determined by Airbus, with customization details and lead times agreed jointly between the OEM and supplier.
The G1B unit displayed at AIX has been developed primarily for certification, with the first production units scheduled for delivery later in 2026. This will mark the transition from development into series production for the platform.
Bucher Group says the programme reflects its continued focus on combining Swiss precision and craftsmanship with innovative cabin solutions, supporting airlines in creating safer, more efficient and highly tailored onboard environments.
