Almost a year after launching the WL780 PRM Transfer Lift at APEX Global EXPO 2024, Letronics is set to return to the EXPO this September as it works to bring the lift to market with a launch customer.

As Connie Villalpando, Marketing Manager, Letronics, tells PAX Tech, “As accessibility continues to be a huge part of the aviation industry we look forward to continuing the journey of helping passengers with mobility issues.”

Ergonomic and efficient

Designed for universal compatibility, the WiseLift WL780 seamlessly integrates with a wide range of aircraft, from regional jets to wide-body aircraft, and accommodates various seating configurations, including herringbone layouts.

“The lift was designed to meet the needs of passengers with mobility issues. This device eliminates all manual lifting, enhancing both passenger safety and staff efficiency,” Villalpando says.

Other considerations at the forefront of its design are passenger comfort and operational efficiency. The lift is engineered with ergonomic support to deliver a dignified and comfortable transfer experience for passengers.

It also streamlines the boarding and disembarkation for passengers, with transfer taking approximately 10 minutes total.

“By streamlining the transfer process, the PRM Transfer Lift significantly reduces the time required to board passengers with reduced mobility, contributing to a quicker boarding process. This efficiency not only enhances the passenger experience but also improves overall flight operations,” explains Villalpando.

The WL780 transfer lift is designed to enhance the dignity, comfort and autonomy of passengers during boarding and disembarkation. At AIX 2025, in Hamburg, Germany, Letronics performed demos, using the opportunity to hear the industry’s response to the product.

“We have received great feedback from users of the lift,” says Villalpando. “Some stated they did not even realize they had been lifted from their wheelchair.”

Villalpando calls the product a “significant advancement in passenger accessibility.”

“The lift’s ergonomic features and quiet operation create a reassuring environment, reducing the stress associated with the boarding process,” she explains.
