CTT Systems to supply Anti-Fuselage-Condensation system to Pobeda Airlines

CTT Systems AB (CTT), provider of aircraft humidity control systems, announced December 10 an order from Pobeda Airlines, a low-cost carrier in the Aeroflot group, for its Anti-Fuselage-Condensation system. The order includes retrofit installation in 20 Next Generation 737-800 aircraft. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in Q1 2022 and to be completed during 2022.
The CTT Anti-Fuselage-Condensation system removes trapped water in blankets, keeps the crown area dry and prevents unwanted excess weight from water accumulation. This enables airlines to operate with lower energy needs and less pollutant emissions.
With this order, Pobeda will have installed the Anti-Fuselage-Condensation system across its entire aircraft fleet. In total, it will operate 64 moisture-protected 737-800 aircraft.
“Pobeda has good experience from the CTT Anti-Fuselage-Condensation system,” said Pobeda’s Engineering Manager Alexey Yudin. “We found that the aircraft fuselage and insulation blankets become much dryer after installation of CTT Anti-Fuselage-Condensation system. The CTT system is the only active measure to tackle the root-cause of fuselage condensation.”

According to CTT, a 200-to-300-kilogram weight reduction on the 737-800 generates the following advantages:
- Lowered fuel burn with 0.4 to 0.6 percent – reduced CO2 emissions with approximately 65 – 95 tons per aircraft per year
- Reduced Out-Of-Service time and lowered electrical equipment repair costs due to an estimated 40 percent reduction of unscheduled electrical component changes per 1,000 flight hours (verified in an 18 months trial on three aircraft)
- Lowered rate of insulation blanket replacement
