Mallaghan launches electric airport bus to support industry net-zero goals

Manufacturer of airport ground support equipment (GSE) Mallaghan has launched an electric airport bus. Called the "Árbus electric airport bus," the company has completed successful trials with ABM Aviation.
The bus is available in three models, the largest of which can accommodate 118 passengers, making it "the largest airport bus capacity currently on the market," according to the December 8 press release from Mallaghan. The bus has a long battery life and can be charged with existing infrastructure at airports.
"We are delighted to formally launch the all-electric Árbus i-tec following its successful trials with ABM in the UK, and to be supporting the wider aviation industry on its journey to net-zero," said Owen McKenna, Sales Director at Mallaghan. "The flexible battery capacity makes the bus suitable for use at smaller regional airports or major hubs."
With GSE from Mallaghan, the electric Árbus can be tailored to the needs of the customer. The company works closely with airports and handlers to ensure needs are met.
Since its launch in 2019, the original diesel Mallaghan Árbus 50W is in use at more than 10 airports across Europe.
