Design agency Milk tells PAX International it has partnered with the iconic global favourite Elmer the Patchwork Elephant to produce a range of children’s backpacks.

Created by David McKee in 1989, Elmer has now been part of children's lives for 35 years. The book is considered one of the most popular children’s books of all time, with more than 10 million copies sold and published in 50+ languages.

“Elmer stands tall as a global pioneer for inclusivity, education, fun and wisdom for children and families all over the world,” reads the Milk press release. “Milk is proud to echo Elmer’s values and has drawn on its extensive experience and expertise in the family engagement sector to create this exclusive range of childrens and toddlers backpacks.”

Along with being bright and colourful, Milk's Elmer backpack range is manufactured using sustainable fabrics and techniques, supporting the key environmental messages found in the latest published book as well as Milk's carbon neutral status.

Milk’s Managing Director, Zoë Telfer says, “As a business, this is a really exciting partnership for us and the Elmer brand. It gives the opportunity for more and more children worldwide to enjoy Elmer. Our core values are well aligned with the messages the Elmer books portray so we are delighted to go to launch with this exciting new range of backpacks.”
