Plaza Premium Group has announced a $20 million investment in Australia, expanding its domestic lounge network and upgrading existing facilities as it celebrates ten years in the market.

The investment includes a new independent domestic lounge at Sydney Airport (SYD), a complete rebuild of its Brisbane International lounge and a new domestic lounge at Cairns Airport (CNS).

The centerpiece is Plaza Premium Lounge Sydney Domestic, a 545-square-meter facility with seating for 113 passengers, scheduled to open at Terminal 2 in early December.

The lounge will be Sydney Airport's first independent pay-per-use domestic lounge, offering access regardless of airline, cabin class or frequent flyer status.

Amenities will include quiet workspaces, high-speed connectivity, locally inspired food and beverage offerings, barista coffee and a full-service bar.

The opening will coincide with the completion of Sydney Airport's $200 million Terminal 2 redevelopment.

"A decade ago, we introduced our independent lounge concept to Australia in Brisbane with a vision to bring premium airport hospitality to every journey," said Mei Mei Song, Chief Transformation Officer, Plaza Premium Group, in an October 29 news release.

"Australia has become one of our most vital growth markets globally, and this $20 million investment reaffirms our long-term commitment to the region as we continue to redefine the travel experience across major Asia-Pacific transit hubs."

Alongside the Sydney opening, PPG is rebuilding and redesigning its Brisbane International lounge as the airport prepares for increased passenger demand ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

A new independent domestic lounge is also planned for Cairns Airport in early 2027, following the opening of PPG's Adelaide Domestic lounge in November 2025. Further developments are scheduled for later in 2027.

The expansion marks a decade since PPG entered Australia in 2016 with the country's first independent international airport lounge at Brisbane Airport.

PPG currently operates airport hospitality facilities across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, forming part of its global network spanning 600 airports in 150 countries.
