Plaza Premium Group is entering the Chilean market with new operations at Santiago de Chile Arturo Merino Benítez Airport (SCL), advancing its Latin America expansion strategy.
The airport hospitality provider will open five Plaza Premium Lounges at Santiago’s primary airport, marking a key milestone in its regional growth. Three lounges are expected to begin operations by the end of 2026, with two more scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027.
The five lounges will be located airside in Terminal 1, within the domestic departures and arrivals area, and will operate 24 hours a day. PPG said each lounge is designed to deliver comfort, functionality and a seamless travel experience for passengers.
The lounge portfolio includes Plaza Premium Lounge Area G, measuring 215 square meters with 54 seats, Area B, measuring 468 square meters with 117 seats, and Area D, measuring 526 square meters with 132 seats. Area A2 will measure 409 square meters with 102 seats, while Area E will measure 536 square meters with 134 seats.
The expansion reflects PPG’s long-term commitment to Latin America, which the company said is a key pillar in its global strategy. The project brings together expertise from its network in Hong Kong, the United States, Brazil and Chile.
“More than expanding our geographic footprint, our arrival in Chile represents a long-term investment in one of the region’s most important markets,” said David Thompson, Senior Vice President, Latin America at Plaza Premium Group.
Thompson said new projects are already under evaluation in Chile, with further growth expected in the market. Additional lounge openings are planned for 2027.

PPG’s entry into Chile comes as Santiago continues to grow as a major aviation hub. The company said it will introduce premium lounge environments tailored to the needs of modern travelers, with a focus on hospitality, design and passenger experience.
“The new lounges that PPG will open in our Domestic Terminal, which welcomed more than 12 million passengers between Santiago and 17 cities in the country in 2025, are aligned with the focus on experience and hospitality that are pivotal for Santiago de Chile Airport,” said Nicolas Claude, Chief Executive Officer of Santiago de Chile Airport.
Claude said the lounges will provide high-quality spaces with a distinctive Chilean identity.
The expansion comes as PPG marks 10 years in Latin America in 2026. Brazil was the group’s first market in the region, launched at Tom Jobim International Airport (GIG) in Rio de Janeiro.
PPG operates across more than 150 countries and 600 airports, serving more than 30 million passengers annually.
