The Maharaja Lounge at San Francisco international Airport
Plaza Premium Group (PPG), a global provider of integrated airport hospitality experiences and passenger service solutions, has announced the opening of The Maharaja Lounge, a new premium lounge developed for Air India at San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
Located in the International Terminal near Gate A1, the lounge is managed by PPG and is designed to bring Air India’s “New Air India Experience” to one of the airline’s key international gateways. Drawing inspiration from Indian culture and heritage, the lounge combines traditional design elements with contemporary comfort to create a sophisticated pre-flight environment for travelers.
The Maharaja Lounge accommodates up to 80 guests and is available to First and Business Class passengers, as well as Maharaja Club Platinum and Gold members. The facility is also part of Plaza Premium Group’s affiliate lounge network, providing access to eligible PPG guests.
Eric Pateman, Senior Vice President said, the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to delivering premium airport hospitality experiences at major international gateways.
“It is an honor for Plaza Premium Group to partner with Air India in managing the Maharaja Lounge at SFO. We are thrilled to extend our decades of award winning airport hospitality to one of the world’s most important West Coast gateways, delivering an unmatched standard of comfort and service to global travelers,” said Pateman
The lounge features several distinct areas designed to meet the needs of modern travelers, including a speakeasy-inspired bar, tarmac-facing seating and dining spaces, social gathering areas, and a dining section offering both Indian and international cuisine. Through the collaboration, PPG and Air India aim to provide a seamless and elevated passenger experience from the moment passengers arrive at the airport.
