Alaska Airlines has unveiled a lounge at Portland International Airport (PDX), marking the latest investment in the carrier's premium travel offering and its continued growth across the Pacific Northwest.

The lounge, will officially welcome travelers on June 4, represents a nearly US$18 million investment and further strengthens Alaska's presence at one of its key West Coast hubs. The opening is part of the airline's broader strategy to enhance the travelers experience as it expands its premium products and global network.

Spanning approximately 14,000 square feet, the lounge is twice the size of Alaska's previous Portland facility and features more than 200 seats, including the airline's Signature Loungers. Designed with a Pacific Northwest aesthetic, the space includes a fireplace, a wooden mural created by artist Ben Butler, natural light-filled interiors and views of the airport's new terminal. Travelers also have access to regionally inspired food and beverages, barista-crafted coffee, cocktails, power outlets and private booths for meetings and calls.

"Portland guests have chosen Alaska for years and played an important role in our growth in the Pacific Northwest," said Shane Jones, Senior Vice President of Fleet, Products and Guest Experience at Alaska Airlines. "This new lounge is our way of thanking them and a reflection of our growing portfolio of premium guest experiences."

The Portland opening is the latest addition to Alaska's expanding lounge network. The airline recently announced plans to open a more than 41,000-square-foot Lounge in Seattle in 2027, which will become the largest Lounge in its network and among the largest airline lounges in the United States. Alaska is also developing its first Lounge in San Diego (SAN) and an expanded Lounge in Honolulu (HNL), both expected to open in early 2028.

Alaska Airlines Lounge members currently have access to eight lounges across the Alaska and Hawaiian network, including locations in Seattle (SEA), Anchorage (ANC), Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), and Portland (PDX). Lounge+ members also receive access to nearly 90 partner lounges worldwide, including select oneworld and partner airline lounges.
