IndiGo named launch carrier for Noida International Airport
IndiGo will be the launch carrier at Noida International Airport (NIA), beginning commercial flight operations from the newly inaugurated airport on June 15.
The airport, located in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, will be the third airport in India’s National Capital Region. IndiGo will progressively introduce direct flights connecting Noida International Airport to more than 16 destinations across India, including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Jaipur, Lucknow, Navi Mumbai, Pantnagar and Srinagar.
The airline says the launch will strengthen India’s aviation network and offer more travel options for passengers travelling to and from the NCR. Bookings are being progressively opened through IndiGo’s website, mobile app and authorized travel partners.
“We are pleased to announce the launch of our operations from Noida International Airport, the third airport in the National Capital Region,” said Aloke Singh, Chief Strategy Officer, IndiGo. “Strategically positioned on the Yamuna Expressway, NIA will be the new gateway for western Uttar Pradesh, alongside the NCR.”
Singh said large metropolitan regions in India are maturing to support multiple airports, with IndiGo now serving all three airports in the NCR: IGI Airport, Hindon and NIA.
“As we continue to expand our operations, we remain committed to delivering affordable, on-time, and hassle-free travel experiences across our unparalleled network,” Singh said.
IndiGo will operate special inaugural flights next month, connecting Lucknow, Noida and Bengaluru. Daily services between Hyderabad, Noida and Amritsar will begin the same day, followed by daily Bengaluru, Noida and Jammu flights.
From July 1, the airline will expand its NIA schedule with flights connecting the airport to destinations including Navi Mumbai, Srinagar, Jodhpur, Dharamshala, Bhopal, Dehradun, Bareilly, Kishangarh, Lucknow, Jaipur, Pantnagar and Chandigarh.
Noida International Airport is among the largest greenfield airport projects in India and is expected to become a major gateway for domestic and international passengers. The airport has been developed with a focus on integrated multi-modal connectivity, supported by road and rail links connecting Delhi-NCR with western Uttar Pradesh.
IndiGo says its launch from NIA will improve access for passengers across the NCR, enhance domestic connectivity and support India’s infrastructure-led aviation growth.
