Bahrain Airport Services has announced plans to launch operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of its broader regional expansion strategy.

The operation, BAS SAUDI, will be based in the Eastern Province and will draw on the company’s experience at Bahrain International Airport to deliver ground handling services tailored to the growing demands of the Kingdom’s aviation sector.

The expansion reflects BAS’s ambition to strengthen its position as a regional aviation services provider while diversifying its operations beyond Bahrain. The company is also exploring additional opportunities in markets including Oman, particularly in aircraft maintenance and technical inspection services.

Nabeel Khalid Kanoo, Chairman of BAS said, “The announcement of BAS SAUDI represents a pivotal step in our journey towards regional expansion as we work to bring our ground handling expertise to promising new markets. Given the rapid development of Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector, we see strong growth potential in the Kingdom, and continue to assess additional opportunities in other markets such as the Sultanate of Oman, especially in aircraft maintenance and technical inspection. This direction reflects our commitment to strengthening our presence as a trusted regional provider delivering integrated services in line with international standards.”

As part of the expansion, BAS is currently assessing operating opportunities across several airports in Saudi Arabia while building partnerships with industry stakeholders. The company said the move supports its commitment to sustainable growth and aligns with ongoing aviation infrastructure development across the region.
