Iberia selects Starlink for free Wi-Fi
Iberia will offer inflight Wi-Fi to all passengers with Starlink
Iberia is set to offer all passengers an improved onboard connectivity system. IAG, the airline’s parent group, has signed a strategic alliance with Starlink.
Thanks to this agreement, Iberia will offer high-speed Wi-Fi service on all its flights, both long and short haul. The service will be free for all passengers—Economy, Premium Economy and Business. The initiative will begin implementation in 2026.
With Starlink, Iberia´s passengers will have access to high-speed internet anywhere in the world, even in areas without coverage, such as the poles. Starlink’s technology, based on a network of thousands of low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, will offer download speeds of up to 450 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 70 Mbps, enabling access to streaming entertainment platforms, cloud-based work, online gaming and many other possibilities.
Iberia’s Flight Plan 2030
The agreement between IAG and Starlink reinforces the airline group’s commitment to innovation and technology—key pillars of Iberia’s Flight Plan 2030, the press release said. This alliance will enable high-speed connectivity and enhance the c experience from boarding to landing.
Aligned with its strategy, Iberia will allocate a significant portion of the €6 billion (US$6.9 billion) investment outlined in Flight Plan 2030 to initiatives that drive digitalization, artificial intelligence and the creation of Ciudad Iberia, an aeronautical innovation hub.
