FORMIA receives LEED Green Building certification
FORMIA has announced that its new Hong Kong head office has been awarded the LEED Gold certification.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and an international symbol of excellence. Through design, construction and operations practices that improve environmental and human health, LEED-certified buildings are helping to make the world more sustainable.
Earning a very high Gold with 77 points, this places FORMIA as one of less than 200 sites in Hong Kong to achieve Gold level certification, the October 10 press release said. As part of its submission, FORMIA received 100 percent of the available points for water and energy efficiency and Asian regional priorities – demonstrating FORMIA’s continued commitment towards improving efficiency, lowering carbon emissions and creating a more sustainable workplace for its people.
“We are thrilled to have received the ultimate green building seal of approval on our new office”, said Roland Grohmann, FORMIA’s CEO & Managing Partner. “This is a significant achievement for FORMIA and is testament to our ongoing commitment and progress on sustainability across the entire fabric of the business.”
“FORMIA’s LEED certification demonstrates tremendous green building leadership,” said Peter Templeton, president and CEO, USGBC. “LEED was created to make the world a better place and revolutionize our buildings and communities by providing everyone with access to healthy, green and high performing buildings. FORMIA is a prime example of how the innovative work of project teams can create local solutions that contribute to making a global difference.”
