Qatar Airways GCEO reveals plans for First Class
“This is a new era,” Qatar Airways’ Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer told CNBC in an exclusive interview this month.
During the interview, he revealed several major developments lined up as part of his vision for the future of the airline, including a new First Class cabin.
This marked the first time he has given an exclusive interview to the outlet since being appointed GCEO in November.
“Based on the demand from certain sectors, we see a high demand for First Class, and as such, have decided to introduce a newly-designed First Class cabin unique to Qatar Airways,” Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer said. “No one can develop a First Class cabin better than us – we are combining the experience of flying commercial and executive jets to develop something new. We are 70 to 80 percent ready and are only finalizing colours. We are hoping to announce it soon.”
He also discussed Qatar Airways’ redesign of its premium Qsuite, set to debut at the Farnborough International Airshow in July 2024. The Qatar Airways GCEO noted that the demand to elevate the passenger experience continues to grow, and he welcomes the challenge for Qatar Airways.
During the interview, he also highlighted digital innovation’s role in driving organizational efficiencies as the airline adds new routes in important growth markets such as China and India.
The airline currently serves more than 170 global destinations.
