Air China aircraft takes off from Munich Airport

Munich Airport (MUC) is reporting traffic levels that surpass those seen pre-pandemic. The airport is expected to see record numbers of services to Asia in the 2024 summer flight schedule starting on March 31, said the January 29 press release. Nine airlines departing from MUC are currently planning 107 weekly flights to 14 destinations across ten countries in East and South Asia. This surpasses the 2019 summer schedule, which saw 101 flights operated by five airlines to ten destinations in seven countries.

The various destinations in East and South Asia with flights from MUC are currently served by Lufthansa, Air China, All Nippon Airways, BeOnd, EVA Air, Singapore Airlines, Somon Air, Thai Airways and Uzbekistan Airways.

To meet the growing demand for air travel, Lufthansa is set to deploy the world’s largest passenger aircraft, the A380, periodically on the route from Munich to Delhi from April 1. The airport is also increasing service to Beijing from three weekly flights to a daily connection, starting in April. Additionally, All Nippon Airways is increasing its service in Munich from four to seven weekly flights beginning on July 2.
