Saudia transports 30 million passengers in 2023

Saudia shares its highlights from 2023

Saudia has revealed it transported more than 30 million passengers in 2023, marking a 21 percent increase over the previous year. The airline operated more than 176.3 thousand flights, a 4 percent increase from the previous year while transit flights grew 77 percent compared to 2019, the press release said.

Saudia attributes the significant growth to the strategic enhancements in its operational model, focusing on increasing seat capacity and flight frequency. The airline also fostered operational efficiency, achieving an on-time performance of 86.44 percent in 2023.

Saudia plays a key role in connecting the world to the Kingdom, transporting more than 16.7 million passengers through its international flight network in 2023, a 36 percent increase over the previous year. The airline operated more than 79.4 thousand international flights, a 19 percent increase compared to the previous year. Saudia has also registered a 26 percent increase in flight hours with 382 thousand flight hours in 2023.

Saudia's 2023 operating statistics and partnerships at a glance

Saudia transported more than 13.5 million passengers on domestic flights in 2023, showcasing a 7 percent growth compared to the previous year. The airline said that 55 percent of the total flights operated, (96.9 thousand flights), were dedicated to domestic destinations, amounting to 163 thousand flight hours.

“Saudia’s growing performance metrics reflect the optimal execution of our year-round operational plan, particularly during peak seasons. These figures are a testament to our success in serving key sectors, including tourism, business, and pilgrimage,” Captain Ibrahim Koshy, CEO of Saudia Group said. “Looking ahead, we anticipate a substantial expansion of our fleet, propelling our performance and marking a new chapter for Saudia since its inception, years ago.”
