Etihad Airways unveils new lounges at Abu Dhabi International’s Terminal A

Etihad Airways has unveiled the flagship premium lounges at Abu Dhabi International Airport’s new Terminal A. The announcement comes as the airline operated the first commercial flight from Terminal A on October 31 and the airline prepares to transition into the new terminal from November 9 to 14.
The flagship lounges span three floors of Terminal A’s north side, between Piers C and D. The First and Business lounges offer dining options, relaxation and entertainment spaces for passengers, including a Roof Lounge and Constellation Bar, the press release said.
“When designing the Etihad Lounges in our new home, Terminal A, our teams thought through every detail, ensuring an experience that will delight our guests from the moment they step through the door,” said Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer, Etihad.
“The lounge is a hugely important aspect of our guests’ journey and we wanted to curate an impressive experience that will leave them wanting to fly again soon. In true Etihad style, we’ve been innovative with the design and will offer a selection of memorable experiences whether our guests choose to relax, indulge in various dining options or enjoy a refreshing drink at the signature Constellation Bar,” he continued.
The lounges are accessible to passengers travelling in Etihad’s The Residence, First and Business Class and eligible Etihad Guest members. Passengers flying in Economy Class can purchase access to the Etihad Business Lounge when seating is available. The Lounge offers access to three gates so passengers travelling in premium cabins can board straight from the lounge.
According to the press release, the Lounge offers views of the runway and quiet spaces to view aircraft in the East and West Study.
Business Class experiences
Etihad’s Business Class lounge offers several dining experiences including Liwan Global Dining and the Roof Lounge. There are also snack and beverage stations located across the lounge.
The Constellation Bar within the Roof Lounge features a 172-piece, 25-meter-long glass lighting sculpture – Panora – depicting the Abu Dhabi city skyline. The bar will serve a wide selection of cocktails, mocktails, wines and other beverages.
The Relaxation Rooms have day beds and plush Armani Casa furnishings for passengers to rest between flights. The lounge also has 18 shower suites.
The press release said the Business Lounge features a Games Room which is fully equipped with table football, air hockey and digital gaming options. There is a Family Room designed for young travellers that are full of games, toys and books for kids.
There is a Smoking Lounge for cigarette and cigar smokers. Prayer rooms have been designed with ensuite ablution areas for comfort and convenience, the airline said in its press release.
First Class experiences
The First Lounge is reserved for premium guests. Those with access to the First Lounge can enter the Rooftop Lounge via a private elevator. The First Lounge Dining Room offers à la carte dining, alongside a fine and boutique wine selection. The cuisine will reflect the best of Emirati gastronomy as well as the destinations Etihad flies, the company said in its press release.
First Lounge passengers can enjoy tea ceremonies and a signature coffee presentation in The Parlour. They also get access to Private Suites for work, rest or dining in total privacy. The company said these are complimentary for passengers flying in The Residence and can be booked by anyone flying First Class as well.
Transition to Terminal A
Besides the First and Business Class lounges in Departures at Abu Dhabi International Airport, premium passengers with pre-booked chauffeur services will be invited to visit the Etihad Chauffeur Lounge to shower, rest or eat before meeting their chauffeur, they press release said.
