Turkish Airlines reports uptick in passenger numbers for September
Turkish Airlines saw an increase of 9.2 per cent in load factor this September, compared to the same period in 2022, bringing the total number of passengers carried this year to 63.9 million
Turkish Airlines has announced passenger and cargo traffic results for September.
The airline, which has a fleet of 429 (passenger and cargo) aircraft flying to 344 worldwide destinations across 129 countries, saw the number of carried passengers increase by 9.2 per cent compared to the same period of 2022 and reached 7.9 million.
International load factor was 84.6 per cent while domestic load factor was 87.3 per cent as the number of international passengers carried increased by 14.6 per cent from 2.3 million in 2022 to 2.7 million in this period.
Available seat kilometers (ASK), increased by 8.9 per cent to 21.1 billion during the period of September 2023 from 19.3 billion for the same period of 2022.
Between January to September, Turkish Airlines carried 63.9 million passengers, an 18.6 per cent increase compared to the same period of 2022.The number of international passengers carried increased by 31.2 per cent to 22.4 million from 17.1 million in the same period of 2022.
Total load factor increased by 3.4 points to 83.1 per cent compared to the same period of 2022. International load factor was 82.9 per cent while domestic load factor was 84.9 per cent.
Available seat kilometers (ASK) increased by 16.6 per cent to 176 billion from 150.9 billion for the same period of 2022.
