Emirates wins APEX World Class award 2024

Emirates was named the 2024 APEX World Class Airline winner at the 2024 APEX IFSA Awards in Long Beach, California. The airline received this honour for mastering the guest experience and delivering outstanding customer service, based on comprehensive audits of quality of service, safety and health control initiatives.

Emirates was one of eight airlines globally to earn this title. In addition, the airline received the 2024 IFSA award for ‘Best Onboard Amenity,’ for its Emirates Sustainable Economy Class amenity kit. The kit contains amenities made of sustainable materials to enhance the passenger’s travel experience while supporting the airline’s sustainability initiatives.

Emirates received these recognitions at the APEX IFSA Awards for its continued commitment to passenger comfort, compliance with the highest global safety standards and a push towards sustainability in the aviation industry. Emirates was celebrated by the industry for its efforts and achievements including a year of record profits, the first year of its Premium Economy Class, investments in improving guest services and ramping up sustainability onboard its aircraft.

"Tonight, we did more than merely acknowledge the prowess and passion of the airline industry, we paid tribute to 2024 APEX World Class trailblazers like Emirates, who have unequivocally etched a golden chapter in the annals of air travel beyond five stars," said APEX/IFSA CEO Dr. Joe Leader. "I had the privilege of spending invaluable moments with President Sir Tim Clark at APEX's FTE EMEA event in Dublin earlier this year. The insights, the vision, the sheer audacity of Emirates' approach to revolutionizing the skies carried in every word he shared. Emirates is not just an airline; it's a symphony of innovation, ambition, and undying commitment to excellence."

Emirates' award-winning Economy Class Amenity Kits
The Emirates Economy Class amenity kit that received the 2024 IFSA award is a complimentary service provided to passengers on long-haul flights. Its unique design represents the four elements (fire, water, earth and air) in a nod to its use of sustainable materials.

The amenity pouches are made from washable kraft paper with prints done in non-toxic soy-based ink. In addition to the reusable pouch, the kits include durable travel essentials that move away from once-popular single-use plastics. The socks and eye masks are made from rPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate) while the toothbrush in the kit is a combination of plastic and wheat straw.

Other onboard initiatives besides the amenity kit include eco-friendly blankets, each made of 28 recycled plastic bottles. Emirates says the move to these blankets prevented 95 million plastic bottles from entering landfills over the course of six years.

The airline has further reduced the use of single-use plastics onboard with a switch to wooden tea and coffee stirrers, paper straws and inflight retail bags made of wood and paper.
