SSP unveils largest food court at Helsinki Airport

Middle Eastern-style Finnish favourite, Fafa’s offers filled pitas, mezes and salads with vegetarian and vegan options
SSP Group has opened its biggest food court in Finland at Helsinki Airport.
The food court is part of Finavia’s ongoing airport redevelopment program. It features six diverse brands, including three bespoke concepts by SSP Finland. The offerings include Café Tori, a 24-hour free-flow restaurant with Finnish traditional homecooked food, Asian Corner with flavours from across Asia, and Pala Pizza Bar serving delicious pizzas.
“These openings are a reflection of the hard work of our team, the efficiency of our operations at the airport, and our long history as a trusted partner at HEL,” said Elena Heiska, Managing Director of SSP Finland, in an August 3 press release. “With particular appeal to the airport’s ever-growing percentage of leisure travellers, the new bars, restaurants and shops will offer something for everyone.”
Three established international concepts are also present: Bastard Burgers, Fafa’s, and Robert’s Coffee. A self-ordering kiosk and communal seating area ensure efficient service for travellers.
SSP has also opened other outlets, such as a third WHSmith, Kaffet Bakery, and a fourth Starbucks. SSP Finland now operates Finnair Lounges as well. The Oak Barrel Irish Pub has expanded its kitchen and draft beer selection. The new establishments aim to cater to the diverse needs of leisure travellers at Helsinki Airport.
Nora Immonen, Director of Commercial Business at Helsinki Airport of Finavia said, in the same release, “We are excited to further develop the food and beverage selection at the airport together with our long-term partner, SSP. We are positive our passengers will enjoy the new restaurants in the food court at the heart of our airport. The variety of restaurants significantly increases the supply of hot food options and take-away products at Helsinki Airport.”
