Aer Lingus records strong H1 2023

Aer Lingus saw strong recovery offsetting the Q1 operating loss of $95 million USD
Aer Lingus has shown a strong recovery, recording an operating profit of €40 million ($47 million USD) for H1 2023. The positive momentum continued in Q2 2023, with a €121 million ($142 million USD) operating profit, offsetting the Q1 operating loss of €81 million ($95 million USD).
The financial performance remains below pre-pandemic levels but reflects increased seasonality in the business. The leisure sector has been robust, especially on long-haul and short-haul routes, while business travel is yet to fully recover.
Aer Lingus has rebuilt capacity to pre-pandemic levels and expanded transatlantic routes. The company is also excited about the upcoming Aer Lingus College Football Classic match, expecting over 40,000 international travellers to attend, making it the largest-ever movement of U.S. citizens to another country for a major event.
